Jack and Kerra didn’t know what to say. So there was a moment of an awkward silence. Kerra looked up to Optimus, “Optimus....what’s a paladin of light?”

“Yeah...I have no idea what’s going on here.” said Jack.

“The Paladins of Light,” said Eichi, “are protecters of the good. To protect the weak and the innocent, to help the weak become strong and keep the powers of Light and Darkness in balance. There are a total of 8 Paladins, and for eons we’ve waited for the 9th Paladin to come forth. And I believe you’re the new paladin.” he said.

Kerra only stood there, flustered. “Wh-What? No, you must got the wrong girl. How am I really a paladin of light? There’s got to be a mistake.”

Eichi studied her face. ‘Is it possible she isn’t the final paladin?’ he thought. “Well we’ll just have to wait and see. After all, we could all be wrong but the Muzbels are planning something that’s far from my sights. So I’m going to keep an eye on things and keep my distance.”  Eichi’s left ear lift twitched. “Sakerra, Jack don’t tell anyone about our meeting. Not until the time is right. And now, I must take my leave, but I’ll be back. ” And from that...he disappeared in a flash of light.

Then a sound of engines entered the base. It was Bulkhead and Bumblebee with Miko and Raf. Miko jumped out of Bulkhead just when they stopped. “Kerra-chan, you were amazing! I didn’t thought that you played so good. Why didn’t you tell us you were that good?”

Kerra only looked down at her feet. “I never really thought I was good really. I just wanted to help out the orchestra club because one of their violinists got bullied and bruised his arm. I didn’t try to show-off or anything, but I did it because I thought it would be the right thing to do.”

“Why didn’t you join our school’s orchestra? I mean, you’re really amazing.” Raf asked.

Sakerra felt like her tongue were tied into many different kind of knots along so did her stomach. Should she tell her friends that she’s really stage-frighten? Will they believe her? Maybe not....

Kerra felt her brother’s hand on her shoulders, “Guys, Kerra’s really not used to being on stage.” he looked at Kerra. “But, I was amazed that you over came your fear.”

Kerra looked back at Jack, “I didn’t know how it happened but it just did.”

“But there’s got to be some reason--”

“What just happen was a coincidence, an accident, nothing else okay?” Kerra’s eyes were pleading Jack to just drop the subject.

Jack gave Kerra a nod, “Alright, we’ll drop it, but we have a lot to do before tomorrow.”

That’s when Kerra just remembered, “Oh my gosh, tomorrow’s school!”

Miko moaned in agony, “Kerra-chan, must you remind us?!”

The teens and some of the ‘Bots couldn’t help but laugh.

*****

Like any other morning, Jack and Kerra got up and ready for school. While riding Arcee, Kerra felt tired from her really long weekend. So, she rested on Jack’s shoulder.

“I don’t think that’s a smart idea Kerra.” he said.

“What?”

“You were falling asleep, and if you fall asleep you might fall.”

“No, well....yeah, but I’m just resting my eyes. Was it like this every time you were with the autobots?”

“So far from since that adventure on destroying the space bridge, no.”

“What’s a space bridge?” asked Kerra.

“It’s kind of like a ground bridge, except you travel through space with worrying about traveling for megacycles to get from one planet to another.” Arcee explained.

“Really?” Kerra asked, amazed, “That’s sounds...incredible.” Kerra slowly, dazed into a deep sleep. Then she saw some flashes of dreams playing. A golden hall....spinning colors....a whirling blizzard outside a window.....and a cry of pain...

“KERRA!” shouted Jack and Arcee.

Kerra shot her head up and wide awake, “What? What?! Did something happen?!?” her head turning sideways, all frantic and completely dumbfounded.

“You almost fell asleep and fell off of Arcee.” Jack almost yelled.

“I’m sorry guys, but I’m wide awake now.”

“Just don’t do that again, you scare us like.” said Arcee.

Suddenly they heard screams coming from the school.

“What’s going on?” asked Kerra. Then she noticed a silver Fisker Ltigo CS driving in the parking space.

“Oh joy,” Jack said in sarcastic enthusiasm, “they’re back.”

“Who?” asked Kerra and Arcee in unison.

“Mandie Gibbons and Westly Osborn, and as you can see...they’re popular.”

As the group finally made it to the parking lot (which is in front of the school and almost next door to the paparazzi). Many of the school’s teachers are trying to clear a path for the returning students.

The first one to step out of the car was a teenage girl, who’s about 16 or 17, she has a slim figure, and very dark curvy wavy hair. She wore sunglasses, a light, brown silk blouse, black skinny jeans and high-heeled boots. My gosh, she was beautiful! I could swear to you, she could be a model from a magazine. As you and I guessed it, it’s Mandie.

Then another person began to emerge, which the girls began to scream like crazy. “Westly!!!!!!” the girls screamed in excitement.

The boy’s about the same age as Mandie, maybe older. His hair was strawberry-blonde (and for some reason, I imagine his hair style like Zac Efron’s), and....scrap! He looked like a prince from a fairy-tale. He wore a red sports’ jacket, a white shirt, blue jeans, sport shoes and he was also wearing sunglasses. His smile was bright, but there was something in his smile that caught Kerra’s attention, there was a hint of sadness in his smile.

“Westly!!!!!!” the girls screamed again but this time they tried to break through the teachers.

Kerra laughed to herself. It was just like her school back in New York. The popular kids have to get security guards to get to and from school and they had fans too. “At least it’s not this intense.” she thought.

As the populars walked toward the door, Westly paused for a minute and looked around a bit, as if he saw something.

“Westly, we’re going to be late for school if you stand still like that all day.” said Mandie.

Westly snapped from his thoughts and looked back at Mandie, “Sorry. Let’s go.”

Kerra groaned to herself as she sat at her lab table. Westly is in the same homeroom as she and Jack. She tapped her pencil in annoyance, because her classmates are making it difficult for the teacher to get the students settled in their desks. After about 5 to 15 minutes, everyone was finally seated.

Mr. Peters (that’s the teacher’s name), cleared his throat in both annoyance and to get the students’ attention. “Class, we’re...very well aware and glad to have Mr. Osborn and Miss Gibbons back, but may I remind not to let this block your studies. Our returned students need to learn too, right? Now, before we begin (sorry wasting more of a little more time) there’s going to be a change of partners. Sierra...you’ll sit with Jack, and Sakerra will partner with Westly.”

Kerra looked up at her teacher. She wanted to express that he’s crazy, but she chose to keep it to herself.

Westly walked toward her desk and offered his hand, “Good morning, I’m Westly Osborn.” he greeted, “What’s up Ribbons?”

Kerra shook his hand, “Please, I prefer Sakerra or Kerra. So, let’s just leave at that.”

“No, I prefer ‘Ribbons.’ It sounds more settle for me.” he pointed at her hair, “Your ribbon.”

That got Kerra irritated. Her eyes quickly turned back to her own work. How should she act in to this situation? “We have work to do....” she managed to mumble.

Kerra didn’t say anything else for the rest of the period. After class, Kerra quickly rose out of her desk and headed straight toward the door. Her next class was Art. When she got there, she didn’t go in. She stopped and leaned her back against the nearby lockers. She noticed that she’s starting to breathe again. When did she stop breathing anyway?

“Kerra-chan? What’s wrong?” asked a familiar voice.

Kerra turned her head and saw Miko. Miko was also in Art, besides Social Studies. Kerra shook her head, “No. Nothing’s wrong, it just that I faced a new encounter this morning.”

“Oh? What was it?” Miko asked.

“You know the returned students that came this morning?”

Miko nodded a bit, “I heard of them but never know of them.”

Kerra shook her head, “Never mind, I’m probably having a hard time recovering from last weekend.”

Miko shrugged, “Yeah, that’s reasonable and don’t worry about it. It took me about a day before I was able to calm down.”

Kerra smiled at her friend, “Thanks Miko. You’re the best.”

When English came around, something came was not what she wasn’t hoping for. The students were to read aloud their poetry homework aloud.

When it’s Kerra’s turn her stomach twisted and turned, making her feel nauseated but she doesn’t want to disappoint her teacher. (Those of you who don’t like speaking in front of class, you get the idea.) Kerra stood in front of the class and closed her eyes and recited her poem....(since she’s still stage-frighten) she said it almost in a still, small voice.......

When Kerra finished she quickly went to her seat and prayed for class to be over soon.

When the bell finally rang Kerra quickly rose from her desk and headed for the door.

“E-Excuse m-me Sakerra?” said a timid voice.

Kerra turned and a reddish-brown haired boy with classes was behind her. She recognized him as Sean Knowles.

“M-May I-I talk to you for a second?” he asked shyly.

Kerra blinked, “Sure, what is it?”

Sean took a very, very, deep breath and began to let it out, “A-Alright, ever since you came to our school, my first thought of you was that you’re cute but....after the past several weeks I...uh...you see, I fell in love with your sweet voice every time you were asked to recite or read your work and I was wondering if would like to go out with me.” he took another deep breath, he had a slight shade of pink in his cheeks “Sakerra Swann will you be my girlfriend?” he looked at her very hopefully.

Sakerra looked at Sean with empathy, “Sean, that’s very sweet and it must’ve taken a lot of courage to tell me how you feel and I think you’re a good boy but...” she placed her hand to where the necklace is, “I’m keeping a promise to a very dear friend of mine that I really care about. So I think it would best if we stayed friends.”

“Oh.” Sean said sadly.

Kerra placed a hand on his shoulder, “Hey, you know what? There’s special girl out there for a guy like you who is one in a million.”

“Really?” he asked hopefully.

“I truly believe that there’s a soulmate for each and every person in the universe and there’s girl who’ll love you for who you are and she for you.”

Sean smiled at her, “Thank you Sakerra.”

Kerra smiled at him, “Your welcome.”

****

When Kerra left the classroom, she didn’t noticed Westly standing next to the door. Westly watched her go down the hall to her next class. His eyes followed her, deep-in-thought, “Is it possible that she’s the girl I made a promise years ago?
